New York, NY – July 2014 New MainStream Capital (“NMS”) is pleased to announce that Robert “Bob” Seidl has joined its Operating Executive Council (“OEC”). As a member of the OEC, Mr. Seidl joins an experienced team of business operators who consult with NMS on the development of investment themes, deal sourcing, and diligence, and then work alongside NMS post-investment. Mr. Seidl will focus on assisting the NMS team in the development and evaluation of investment opportunities in the consumer products and services arena.
The NMS team initially met Mr. Seidl in 2008 when he was CEO of H2O Plus, LLC (“H2O Plus”), a global branded skincare company headquartered in Chicago. As an NMS portfolio company under Mr. Seidl’s leadership from 2008 to 2011, the company nearly tripled its points of distribution globally and achieved solid growth of revenue at retail. In July 2011, H2O Plus was sold to POLA-Orbis Holdings (“Pola”), a leading Japanese cosmetics company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Following the acquisition of H2O Plus, Mr. Seidl became the Chief Global Officer at Pola, where he had responsibility for directing five international companies, and was charged with leading their international business development activities. Mr. Seidl retired from Pola in 2014.
Prior to his roles at H2O Plus and Pola, Mr. Seidl served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Zotos International, a large subsidiary within parent company Shiseido Cosmetics. During his tenure with Zotos International Mr. Seidl also served as President of prestige skincare company Decléor. His background in the personal care and consumer products industry includes a 15-year career with Unilever’s Helene Curtis Industries with various managerial positions including Vice President of Marketing and divisional General Manager. Mr. Seidl began his career at Motorola in marketing management.
“We’re honored to have Bob lend his time and experience to our firm. As we build our NMS portfolio, having the benefit of Bob’s insight will benefit the team at NMS, and the leadership group at each of our portfolio companies,” remarked Kevin Jordan, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of NMS.
Earlier this year, NMS leveraged the experience of another OEC member, Bob Livonius, in connection with the development of an investment thesis in IT Staffing. Following the review of numerous opportunities, NMS completed an investment in Ettain group, a Charlotte, North Carolina-based IT Staffing provider. Today Mr. Livonius and NMS team members serve on Ettain’s Board of Directors, together with the company’s founders. Mr. Seidl resides in Naperville, IL and has two daughters.
