The firm’s formation and heritage date back to the spin-out of a group of portfolio companies from the Goldman Sachs Merchant Banking Division in 2010.
NMS principals have made numerous investments in middle market companies. We believe the consistent application of our investment philosophy, coupled with our adaptability to the specifics of each transaction, has been essential to our investment strategy.

Our investment strategy leverages a growth-focused, theme-driven investment process within business services and healthcare services.
NMS focuses on companies headquartered in North America.
Growth Stage Focus
We partner with profitable, growing companies that are leaders within their markets and have actionable opportunities to grow organically and/or through acquisitions.
Our portfolio companies typically have EBITDA of $5 million to $25 million at initial investment. We do not have minimum size requirements for add-on acquisitions for our current portfolio companies.
NMS focuses on equity investments ranging from $25 million to $75 million in privately-held companies with the ability to invest more with co-investments from our limited partners. We do not require minimums for add-on acquisitions for our current portfolio companies.
We focus on majority positions ranging from 51-90%. Day-to-day management of our portfolio companies lies with our executive teams, and our involvement is primarily as a value-added investor focusing on board-level strategic initiatives.
We focus on building value strategically over time with investment hold periods typically averaging 4-6 years.
We believe conservative levels of debt allow management teams to focus on growing their businesses rather than servicing their lenders. Many of our initial investments are completed with no debt.
